Alexander Kiene is a teacher of sport, English and French. Active as a player up to the fourth german league, his career as a coach has taken him from the national league to the Oberliga and Regionalliga and on to international professional football, where he worked as head coach for Austria Lustenau in Austria.

Alexander Kiene is currently under contract as head coach at the german traditional club Hessen Kassel. Born in Lower Saxony, he previously had spells at Preußen Hameln, OSV Hannover and Arminia Hannover, where he coached teams that won the championship and promotion. This was followed by further engagements in the regional league at BSV Rehden, TSV Havelse and VfB Oldenburg. Kiene led Rehden from the relegation zone in the winter break to secure relegation, while he coached TSV Havelse to the top flight of the Regionalliga Nord. In the 2020/2021 season, Kiene was head coach in the second Austrian Bundesliga and was therefore able to gain valuable international experience as a coach.

As a strategist and developer, he wants to give clubs a sporting identity and take their team and individual players to the next level.
Coaching
Coaching forms the basis of football coach Akexander Kiene's collaboration with his players. This includes technical-tactical work and development on the pitch as well as visual reappraisal and personality development in coaching sessions off the pitch. The individual is at the centre of all considerations. Challenging and encouraging them and taking a holistic approach is an essential part of the coaching strategy.

Alexander Kiene has been travelling around the Bundesliga and the academies since 2022 and, in his role as a scout, has scrutinised numerous players for professional football.
